Civil/Structural Engineer

Description:
  1. Prepare design calculations, computerized analyses (STAAD Pro), specifications, and/or perform other civil/structural engineering tasks  and modeling using prescribed tools and procedures;
  2. Prepare and issue contract information (CI) sheets and/or BEDD sheets based on calculations and organization standards.
  3. Review drawings and other engineering documentation for compliance with CI sheet and/or BEDD sheet requirements, codes, and standards.
  4. Evaluate, select and apply standard civil/structural engineering techniques and methods to assignments;
  5. As required, act as the lead engineer on a small project without technical complexity and review the work of less experienced engineers;
  6.  Prepare design calculations following prescribed methods, procedures and software;
  7. May serve as an individual contributor or may plan, assign, coordinate, and review work of others depending on the scope of a particular assignment.
  8. Prepare technical specifications for purchased equipment;
  9. Coordinate and interface with equipment suppliers;
  10. Prepare technical evaluations of supplier's proposals; and
  11. Work effectively and communicate with customers, other technical disciplines, and the organization's project management team.
  12. Present results in written and oral communications.
  13. Perform all of the foregoing using:
  • Mat3d and Foundation 3d
  • pcaColumn and pcaMats
  • Microstation and Autocad
  • Intergraph Smartplant
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Related Field and 5 years experience in job offered or 5 years experience in the Related Occupation.   Must be Certified in STAAD Pro and PDMS.  

Related Occupation:

Civil/Structural Engineer or any other job title

  5. Preparing design calculations following prescribed methods, procedures and software;
  6. Preparing technical specifications for purchased equipment;
  7. Coordinating and interfacing with equipment suppliers;
  8. Preparing technical evaluations of supplier's proposals; and
  9. Performing all of the foregoing using:
  • pcaColumn and pcaMats
  • Microstation and Autocad
  • Intergraph Smartplant
